Our forest cabin is built from high-quality wood and, despite its small size, provides everything you need to completely calm your body and mind.
The apartment is designed to accommodate up to two guests. A spacious bed with a high-quality mattress, linens, blankets, and pillows is provided for sleeping. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink with running drinking water, a single-burner gas stove, necessary cookware, dish towels, and eco-friendly dish soap. The bathroom features a shower stall, a flushable chemical toilet, roll-out toilet paper, a small sink, running hot and cold water, towels, and eco-friendly personal hygiene products. In case of cooler weather, you can light a fire in the wood-burning stove using the wood provided in the basket by the entrance. The terrace, with its armchairs, or the seating area next to the terrace offers a view of the countryside. Fires may only be lit in the portable fire pit provided. The exception is on very hot summer days, when there is a ban on

With an escort, you can walk along the gravel road to the parking place, then walk about 200m to the accommodation. Parking immediately next to the forest apartment is not possible due to the forest land. For up-to-date information on passability, please check before arrival, complications may arise in the event of heavy rain or snow.

The house was beautiful, clean, private and super comfortable. Hot water was great, and the fire place super easy to use and cozy. The owners were super quick to respond and help us when we needed anything. I would definitely go back there again for another stay.
The forest apartment was our first experience at Bezkemp and also in northern Bohemia, and it was totally worth it!
What I’d like to highlight:
- Plenty of drinking water from the tap, so there’s no need to buy plastic bottles or wash dishes in a basin. We’re used to conserving water, and we still had about half the tank left after 4 nights of showering and washing dishes.
- A shower inside the cabin with hot water! Along with the chemical toilet, this was the greatest comfort—not just for women 😉.
- Privacy—we wanted a place that was quiet and peaceful, and that’s exactly what we got. We watched the Perseid meteor shower from the terrace at night, and it was a beautiful experience.
- Broumov and other beautiful places within easy driving distance. We enjoyed both the calligraphy workshop at the monastery and the rock maze in Ostaš.
- Communication with the owners—whenever we needed anything, the owners took care of it almost immediately. At our request, they installed insect screens on the windows, so we could air out the place nicely.
- The gas stove was more than sufficient for making morning coffee or dinner.
What was missing to make it perfect:
- A place to sit on the property outside the cabin. The property is overgrown, which is very nice, but I can imagine a small shaded area where we could spread out a blanket to relax. The terrace is in the sun all day long. However, above the cabin, outside the property, you can hang a hammock—which we brought with us—in the shade.
- A higher number of bees due to two beehives on the edge of the property. It’s August, so there were generally a lot of insects everywhere, but this might be good to know for people with allergies. We solved this with a citronella candle on the patio, but it wasn’t really possible to eat outside.
- There’s no electricity on the property, and the solar lamps only turn on when it’s really dark. The owners lent us a power bank and an extra flashlight, which helped, but based on the listing description and the “electricity” filter, we had assumed there was electricity on the property when we booked. For someone with type 1 diabetes and a sensor in their phone, this could be an added source of stress.
- Refrigeration in the cabin is limited to a food storage box. On the first day of our stay, it was very hot, and the box didn’t provide enough insulation to keep items like eggs fresh—so we had to throw them away. However, it’s probably sufficient for a weekend stay or during the off-season.
Overall, I rate the experience very positively and believe that the minor shortcomings will be ironed out over time. For this reason, I’m deducting one star. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Monika and Milan.
