Time truly stands still here. An apple orchard, a grassy meadow overlooking the valley, and absolute tranquility—that’s what this spot in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands is all about. Come with a tent or an RV; there’s more than enough space, and you won’t have to worry about crowds. In the morning, you’ll wake up to silence, broken only by the sound of horses, cows, and geese grazing in the neighboring pasture.
And best of all—you’re right in the middle of the Žďárské Vrchy Protected Landscape Area, with enough excursions to last a whole week. The nearest town is Hlinsko (about 15 km away), home to the Betlém folk open-air museum right in town and the nearby Veselý kopec—a living example of rural life in the Vysočina region. A little further away lies the Toulovcovy Maštale sandstone labyrinth (about 10 km) with its mysterious passages and forest bike trails. Families with children won’t want to miss the Peklo Čertovina adventure park (about 10 km). For culture, it’s worth taking a trip to the Renaissance town of Litomyšl, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (about 30 km). More experienced hikers and cyclists can head to Devět skal—the highest peak of the Žďárské vrchy hills (about 20 km)—or to the picturesque ponds in Milovy (about 20 km). And for those who want to experience the region to the fullest, a trip to Žďár nad Sázavou is a must, featuring the pilgrimage church of St. John of Nepomuk designed by Jan Blažej Santini (approx. 30 km).
