shower / washroom
- A shallow stream can serve as a washing area :-)
fence
Greywater (shower, washing)
- If you use eco-friendly cleaning products, you can pour the graywater onto the adjacent property, into the bushes. If you do not use eco-friendly laundry and cleaning products, you can pour the graywater at the nearest gas station at the Žerotín agricultural cooperative.
Chemical toilet
- You can empty your chemical toilet at the Strážnice campground (a 7-minute drive away), at the marina on the Batov Canal in Petrov (a 10-minute drive away), or at the marina in Veselí nad Moravou.
Trouble-free arrival even in bad weather
We drive our car to the property year-round; snow is rare in Strážnice, and it rains occasionally. Most of the year is dry, and the property is easily accessible by car.
The entrance is 3.5 meters wide and rises gradually (as if you were climbing two steps); you drive directly onto the property from the dirt access road.
cycling
The bike path runs along an asphalt road near the property. The area around Strážnice is great for cyclists: those who like flat terrain can head toward the Baťa Canal or the Morava River, while those who prefer hills can head to the White Carpathians. There are also trail routes here—Holý vrch, Travičná...—and for more experienced riders, there are trails just across the border in Slovakia.
water sports
splashing in the stream, the swimming area in Vnorovy (nice and inexpensive)
activities for kids
Playing in the stream—building dams..., natural climbing structures in our "Amazon" at the back of the property, playing on the lawn, which is the size of a small soccer field.
hiking
The area around Strážnice is beautiful for hikers; the "Trail Through Bohemia" runs near the property, stretching from Moravia to the White Carpathians.
Other activities
rollerblading—the paved path between Bzenec, Přívoz, and Ratíškovice; boat trips on the Baťa Canal; and rafting down the Morava River—a beautiful, unspoiled stretch of river
You may use the entire property except for a small area behind the cabin—the wood and materials storage area—which is off-limits. Do not drive to the back area with the fire pit behind the pear tree—it’s waterlogged! It’s fine for walking and sitting, but car tires would sink into the ground. It’s a great spot for the fire pit; no need to build a border around it, and water for dousing the fire is available through the back gate. Please keep the fire small so the surrounding trees don’t catch fire. The overgrown neighboring plots are also ours; you’re welcome to gather firewood, and the kids can enjoy their own “Amazon.” Park in the shade among the trees, among the sour cherries and plums (blackthorns), or on the large grassy area if you like the sun. Please don’t pick the edible fruit—you’re welcome to gather it, though :-). Pets are allowed as long as they’re walked off the property!!!! Please walk them FAR AWAY FROM THE PROPERTY—YOU MUST GO INTO THE FIELDS! Please be mindful of the children who like to play around the property or in the stream!!!
