Yurt at Jitry – A Place Where You Can Hear the Silence
In a secluded spot, right on the dam of a small pond and at the very edge of the forest, stands a yurt hidden away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Here, you won’t find crowded campgrounds, neighboring cabins, or the noise of the city. Just the calm surface of the pond, the rustling of the trees, the singing of birds, and the open South Bohemian countryside.
In the morning, you can open the wooden door and watch nature awaken. During the day, take a walk along the Lužnice River or a trip to Dobronice, Bechyně, or Tábor. In the evening, build a fire, sit under the trees, and watch the last light reflect off the surface of the pond. When darkness falls, all that remains around you is silence, the crackling of the fire, and a sky full of stars.
Inside the yurt, a cozy circular space awaits you, featuring a wooden floor, a traditional wooden frame, and a skylight that lets daylight stream in. Simple, natural furnishings, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a small seating area create a pleasant place to relax, read, or spend an evening together.
This stay is designed for those who want to slow down for a while, put away their phones, and reconnect with the simple things in life—the scent of the forest, the morning dew, the sounds of nature, and the peace and quiet that we often don’t have time for in our daily lives.
Right next to the yurt, you’ll find an outdoor seating area, a picnic table, and a fire pit. There’s also an outdoor shower with hot water, a dry toilet, and a cot with clean sheets. You can also add a small mattress on the floor, and if you need to accommodate more people, you can set up your own tents. Charging your cell phone is no problem. The yurt is equipped with a gas stove and the necessary cookware for heating water and quickly preparing hot meals. However, it is not suitable for large-scale cooking. Drinking water can be replenished at a farm approximately 300 meters away.
The yurt at Jitry doesn’t offer the luxury of a traditional hotel. It offers something that’s much harder to find these days—true privacy, freedom, nature, and the feeling that you’ve temporarily escaped the world.
