The place itself is truly beautiful and matches the description and photos in the ad perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities near the quarry—the fire pit is perfectly situated in a sheltered spot, and the outhouse has a handy outlet for charging small electronic devices. The water in the quarry is dark black, but otherwise clean, and you can swim in it without any problems. A big thank you also goes to the owner for the helpful tips on trips in the area.
Unfortunately, we have to confirm what often appears in previous reviews: a major drawback is the noise from the adjacent cabin. Out of four nights, we had peace and quiet for only one. On the other nights, we heard music playing late into the night or loud evening revelry from next door. Our worst experience occurred one night when a heated argument full of shouting and threats broke out in the neighboring cabin, which made us feel unsafe there.
Another issue related to the cabin’s proximity is the dog that roams freely. Although it’s friendly and used to people, it’s also very curious and persistent—we had to keep our tent zipped up at all times because it would shamelessly crawl right inside. The dog’s presence is likely also to blame for the dog feces scattered around the property.
The campground itself has a great atmosphere and good facilities, but due to the proximity of the cabin, you should be aware that peace and privacy at night are, unfortunately, not entirely guaranteed here.
Perfect for a long weekend—a great place to relax.

Oh well… it just wasn’t the right time of year for me this time. Maybe next time. I really hope it rains a lot soon. My arrival and departure were watched over by the Beagle I mentioned earlier. :) I didn’t get to meet her last year.

Although there are two cabins nearby, the vegetation makes them almost invisible, and even when people are inside them, it’s not disruptive at all. The campsite itself, complete with a fire pit, is situated in a hollow below the surrounding terrain. This has the advantage that even when the wind blows, the tent doesn’t budge and your belongings don’t get blown around the campsite. A big plus is the proximity to a flooded quarry, so even though there’s no drinking water at the campsite, you can fill a bucket there to put out the fire. It’s also convenient to be able to charge your phone using the outlet located in the restroom, which is lockable with a code, so you don’t have to worry about your phone. As for getting there, we strongly recommend following the owner’s instructions and map exactly. If you enter the exact coordinates into your GPS, it will guide you as close as possible to that point along what it considers a road—but that means it will lead you to the wrong turn. The road itself is easily passable for an off-road vehicle. It should also be manageable with a car that has a lower suspension, but it requires driving slowly and with great caution. We were satisfied with our camping experience at this spot and would love to return here if we’re in the area again.
