Where do the property ratings come from?
There was only one shower for everyone, so you had to keep an eye on the schedule and make the most of your free time. But it was manageable.
The campsite itself is very usable and flat, and the facilities—including showers and restrooms—are easily accessible and clean; electricity is available right on the site, and water for refilling is available right next to the path leading to the restrooms. However, I didn’t pay enough attention to the fact that this plot isn’t offered exclusively through Bezkempu, which turned out to be a major problem right after we arrived. Although we were the only ones there out of the 4 out of 5 possible reservations made through Bezkempu, roughly half of the site was unusable due to landscaping work following a flood from the adjacent pond.
After parking three RVs and setting up one tent, we occupied barely a third of the lot (as later measured). Nevertheless, we were asked to make even more room for other visitors and park according to the instructions, not as we’d preferred (fortunately, after explaining the situation, we reached a compromise that satisfied both sides).
We use the Bezkempu portal precisely because we want privacy within as small a circle as possible. Here, however, we later felt like we were at a typical campground, because several more tents arrived after us—booked directly outside the portal. Even with this increased occupancy, however, the property remained peaceful.
I don’t mean to disparage the place in any way; it’s clear that maintaining such a large property must take an enormous amount of time and effort. I just want to point out to those looking for absolute privacy that they probably won’t always find it here. The staff at the adjacent brewery were pleasant, though—but as a non-beer drinker, I can’t comment on their products.
A place with a real sense of place! A great brewery with a beautiful rustic vibe. Lots of options for day trips in the area. Great for biking. It’s a real plus that there’s a shower available.🙏. Simply fantastic.
