In the very west of the Czech Republic lies Aš, near which there is a flooded quarry. At this quarry you will find an ideal place to rest and NEWLY you CAN USE an unconventional sauna.

There is a quiet little pallet on the south side of the quarry for camping. Those who reserve it have it to themselves. Two tents for those travelling together (more tents are available on request).
Summer is here and that includes the forest, meadows, swimming, barbecues and all this you will find at the forgotten quarry with crystal water that will saturate you with its greenish beauty. The romp of summer will wake the local region from its nostalgic atmosphere, but you will still find plenty of peace and quiet here.
The quarry is situated in the undiscovered Smrčiny Nature Park, at the entrance to the Ašský výběžek (Ašský výběžek), 7 km from Františkovy Lázně. A pleasant swimming in clear water awaits you, with the possibility of diving. You can take a walk in the forests of the nature park or go cycling to discover the region on the dense network of cycle paths, one of which leads right next to the quarry. If the weather is not favourable, there is a sauna next to the quarry to warm up your body.
There are many tourist destinations in the surroundings: the Františkovy Lázně (7 km), the Cheb Monument Zone (14km), the Vildštejn Castle (12km), the Seeberg Castle (5km), the Háj u Aše lookout tower (14km), the Czech Yellowstone - the Soos Geological Park (14km) and also places that J.W. Goethe loved to visit - the Komorní hůrka volcano (12km) or the nearby Goethe Rocks (5km). Across the border in Germany, there is the town of Selb (22km), made famous by the Rosenthal porcelain, or the rock labyrinth of Luisenburg (40km).
A stone's throw away is the eco-farm in Polna, where you can blend in with country life or explore the surroundings from the horse saddle. If you are friends with a golf club, the nearby 18-hole course in Hazl (4km) or the 9-hole course near Luby await you.
Visit the most westerly getaway in Bohemia.
Summer evenings in this quarry are truly magical.

The quarry is not fenced and the rules we have set do not strictly forbid people to enter the quarry, they just limit it to a time (30 min). Random movement of people is usually only on hot summer days. Don't worry the quarry is not besieged by people. We encourage everyone with instructions to respect each other and respect the peace. Other months, the quarry will once again be embraced by the sleepy beauty of the local area.

cycling

One of the 11 cycling routes in Aš leads directly around the quarry. This area has the densest network of cycling routes in the Karlovy Vary Region. Ride through the PP Smrčiny between Cheb and Aš, or head across the border to the German Naturpark Fichtelgrbirge.

climbing

Goethe Rocks (6km) are the westernmost climbing locality in the Czech Republic. Some of the 113 routes are equipped with fixed belay.

winter sports

On the frozen surface you can skate in the quarry under suitable conditions. Watch out for holes in the ice - the quarry is frequented by hardy people! Trips on cross-country skis or snowshoes through the white silence are magical here.

water sports

Swimming is possible directly in the clean water of the quarry. Under the roof, you can take a dip in the Aquaforum Františkovy lázně (9km) or in the city spa in Bad Brambach (14km) or Bad Elster (24km).

hiking

Wander to the places J.W. Goethe liked to visit (Goethe's Rock, Chamber Hill). The circular route near Vernéřov will take you through the history of the region. On the German side, the Vogtland Panorama Weg, which is appreciated by tourists, leads through Bad Brambach.

Please observe the rules and regulations of the local Smrčiny Nature Park.Do not make noiseIt is a condition of the property and its immediate surroundings that you keep quiet at all times during your stay, including at night. It is forbidden to play loud music and thus disturb the whole surroundings.Do not fishFishing is forbidden. Please respect the life of the fish that bravely live in this "hungry water". You can feed them and you will be rewarded by their dancing around the food thrown in. Do not throw stones, sticks or other objects into the quarry.Do not set fireOnly a fire in a designated fire pit is allowed on the property. Do not cut live trees for firewood. The fire must be kept under constant control and properly extinguished when finished. The place is great, even though we shared the quarry with multiple reservations, we didn't know about each other, there is plenty of space, privacy. The water was nice for swimming, in the morning you can catch beautiful sunrises illuminating slowly the quarry and the forest. There are things to rent for barbecues, entertainment.
It is clear that the owner Tomas takes care of the place, as well as the communication.
We managed camping comfortably for 2 nights even with the youngest participant of 5 months.

Super and quiet place. Suitable even with children. The only thing I could criticise was that at the time we were there, it was not possible to use the well that is on the property. But according to the owner this is only temporary and within another week the well should be working.
Otherwise, there are plenty of things to borrow on the property, such as portable fire pits, BBQ stuff, etc. FREE. You can also find small snacks in the dump.
For us it is great and we can only recommend it.

Beautiful plaza in the shade of trees, fireplace and benches. The water in the quarry is clean and refreshing. Very nice owner, you can see the care he gives to this place. I recommend it with all ten.
