Seasonal holiday cottage in the most beautiful cottage location of the town of Mšeno, which is one of the most sought-after places in the Central Bohemian Region for its location, good accessibility and plenty of services. The town is rightly described as the gateway to the picturesque Kokořínsko - Macha Region and is located about an hour from Prague.

There is no internet here, but we usually welcome that on our trips :-) There is a mobile signal for emergencies.

It is an ideal place for a quiet rest, stargazing and a starting point for exploring the beauty of the surrounding nature.

The cottage is very modestly equipped but there is a fridge, kettle, microwave and hot water. On the ground floor there is a veranda with stairs to the attic and access to the living area. The living area is connected to the kitchenette, where there is also a shower. In the attic there is a bedroom with 3 beds and a room above the stairs where there is another bed.

The cottage is on a slope, the bedroom is in the attic, so there are no stairs to avoid. The toilet is flush but outside the cottage, about 25 m away. Capacity is 5 people, but more suitable for a family of 2 2 (or max 2 3). Sheets always available, other bedding and towels by arrangement for a fee. More info in the rules.

Outside of high season, sometimes reservations cannot be approved because the lodge is not easily accessible or the water is closed. However, approval/disapproval is always done almost immediately.

The local sojourn fee is 20 CZK per adult per day (excluding the first day). It is payable in cash on arrival.

A pleasant place for a weekend in the Kokořín region. We spent our last holiday weekend here, everything was fine, just as far as quietness goes, we were unfortunately a bit unlucky - there were people in all the surrounding cottages and although it doesn't give the impression that the cottages are close by during the day, in the evening you can hear the clinking of cutlery at the campfire next door. The two neighbouring cottages were cheerful on the first night - until midnight. The second night was better, but the screams of children still in the dark and barking dogs were unfortunately the same. We were a bit unlucky with the peace, because all night long a weasel was persistently slashing on our roof :D
As far as the equipment was concerned, I guess there was really nothing missing. It's very modest, but everything was efficient and the water heated up quickly.
As a non dog person I have to say that the couch and armchair downstairs smelled rather doggy. It didn't limit us in any way, we spent time outside and on the veranda, but I'm writing this for people who might be bothered by it. The upstairs bedroom was completely clean and we arranged for bedding and it was definitely clean and smelled good, so no need to worry about sleeping.
The place is a great base for excursions, right in Mšeno a super bakery and cafe where you can have brunch. Mšeno Spa is simply an ice refreshing cult.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. For us with small children, it was a bit inconvenient that the land is mostly uphill, at the cottage is only a few meters and the plaza is down by the car, but you can not see there. So the ideal that you drink coffee on the doorstep and you can see the children, can not be completely applied.

The cottage is cozy, it has everything you could possibly need. The location is charming: from the hill you can see Bezděz on the horizon and the towers of Mšeno on the other side, you can easily walk to various marked trails.
Mr. Tomáš is a native of Mšeno and gave us a lot of tips and advice (lunch in the Romanov tavern was very good, thank you!) We felt like truly cared for and very welcome guests :)
