We were looking for a place to sleep under the open sky; we had a tent as a backup. We decided to spend the night on the porch without pitching the tent. When a heavy thunderstorm rolled in around midnight, we were glad to have a solid floor beneath us and a roof over our heads. We really liked the spot and would love to come back.
The perfect spot for camping, even with kids. Easily accessible yet secluded—it feels like you’re all alone in the woods. The site is well-maintained, complete with a fire pit and a cozy seating area under a canopy.
A great spot just a short distance from civilization, yet far enough away that civilization doesn’t disturb you. Drinking water is about a 10-minute walk away (the spring flows very slowly, but that depends on how dry it is; the water is good). Some firewood had been prepared and cut; it was dry. The two of us slept under the awning on the porch and were just fine (the price for a tent seems a bit high to me, especially when you don’t even have a tent :)).
