We were traveling to Chomutov with our family on Saturday, and some friends were spending the weekend at Na Pastvě, so we decided to stop by on our way back and, if things worked out, spend the night there. Communication with the owners was quick and completely hassle-free even that Saturday, so we knew we had a place to sleep even before leaving Chomutov—great.
The place is nice, quiet, and clean, with plenty of firewood, a trampoline, and other fun activities for the kids. The outhouse is fine, though the pieces of paper blown out of it and scattered nearby aren’t great. Since our friends had a camper and a tent down below, we slept under the open sky up above the fire pit, where the streetlights were quite bothersome. It’s nothing you can’t survive for one night, though.
What we unfortunately didn’t notice until the morning while packing up—and what I really see as a problem—was the amount of broken glass we collected on the property. In total, there were about three handfuls, ranging from small to fairly large pieces—two of the large ones were right under the hammock down below. When I think about how the boys were running around barefoot there all evening, it’s quite a stroke of luck that no one got hurt. It looked like shards from a jar, and I understand they were probably left behind by previous campers, but we found them scattered across a large part of the grassy property.
Otherwise, the immediate surroundings are nice, and there are plenty of places to visit—the old church in Bukovina, the linden tree in Nepomyšl, swimming in the Maledivy quarry or the Nepomyšl pond, Valeč Castle...
Peaceful and pleasant. Plenty of shade and amenities.
