A small modest cottage hidden in the middle of the Křivoklát forests. The place is simple, but cozy and you will find everything you need here. The well is in walking distance under the hill, in winter you can heat up, you can also make coffee here and drink it on the terrace in a deck chair. At the same time you can watch the birds flying into the bird feeder, which is quite busy.
The cottage is relatively hidden away and will give you privacy, while being a short walk from the road and the river - if you want to take a dip in the Berounka, you can run to it in a few minutes.

It's a lovely place to sleep - it's really dark inside at night (if you keep the shutters closed, we're used to it) and completely quiet, maybe too much for someone who's afraid :) Those who need to can also catch a signal, work here and use the electricity from the solar panel (more at the bottom of the description). Or, on the other hand, turn off your mobile and enjoy the peace of the forest. The most you can do is to hear your neighbour from afar or meet a stray mushroom picker on a summer weekend. There is no road around the cottage, so no people will walk under your windows.

There is a double bed and two mattresses that can be put on the floor. So two can sleep here without problems, with slightly reduced comfort even four (at night it will be really crowded, you have to rearrange the inside of the hut to fit everyone). Take sleeping bags with you - duvets/blankets may not be available, or they are just for covering in the winter and not for sleeping directly!

Further details - how to find the cottage, how to get there either by car or public transport (nearest bus 30 mins walk, train 50 mins), where to find the keys etc. are in the stay instructions which I will send to guests with their booking confirmation. Everything doesn't fit here :)

The mascot of the cottage is my stuffed reindeer, hence Sobovo.

Please book weekends during the season (April - October) in full! One-day weekend bookings during this period will only be approved if the chalet is not booked even a week in advance.

equipment
toilet - Dry outdoor toilet. Toilet is separating - gentlemen please be careful, you must ALWAYS sit down.
drinking water - The well is about 300m away as the crow flies and it is uphill to the cottage, but it is there. Drinking water does NOT always have to be ready for guests on site, depending on when someone was last in the cottage - ready drinking water will not last indefinitely.
electricity - There is a solar panel on the roof that recharges the battery inside. It is enough to light a lamp or charge a mobile phone and when using the inverter you have one socket for charging a laptop. It can't power any larger appliances (over 400W), so you can leave your hairdryer and similar appliances at home. ATTENTION! In winter / if it is cloudy for a long time / if guests have arrived before you, it is possible that the battery will not have enough capacity for your needs. Please note that the electricity source cannot be relied on 100% in the cottage and be prepared for this eventuality.
shower / washroom - Outdoor solar shower for hanging on a tree.
picnic table
grill
the property is suitable for a winter stay
heating - Small Jotul stove in the cottage.
Accessibility
The property is accessible even in winter / in the snow season
The property is easy to access even in bad weather

By car, the cottage is approached by the following route, about 300m below the cottage: https://mapy.cz/s/momekujesa The last stretch to the cottage is always on foot.

Restriction of the access road

The road is practically passable for the car all year round, only if it snows a lot or if it freezes in the rain, there may be a problem with the car - in such an exceptional case, contact the owner who will advise you what and how. If you have a quad bike or chains, you shouldn't have a problem even in winter. Personally, I drive a regular city car this way, no ATV, and have never had a problem.

activities
cycling
water sports

In a few minutes you will run down to the Berounka River.

hiking

The Křivoklát region offers plenty of opportunities for hiking - Křivoklát Castle, the ruins of Jenčov, the Klíčava Dam... there is plenty of it.

rules

STAYING WITH THE DOGS
For the dogs there is a paw towel, two stainless steel food and water bowls and a floor mat in the cottage.
Dogs are NOT allowed on the bed or mattresses.

FIRE MAKING
Although there is a fire pit present at the cabin, according to current laws, it is not allowed to build an open fire at the cabin - the site is inside the MPA and less than 50m from the forest. The host is not responsible for any fire that may be started.

STAYING IN THE FOREST
The pine trees in the surrounding forest are gradually dying. Therefore, when moving around in the surrounding forest, be careful of any falling branches and the like.
With the current warning of strong winds from the Czech National Weather Service, the owner reserves the right to cancel the stay for safety reasons.
During the possible summer drought, with the current CHMA fire ban in force, it is strictly forbidden to light any fires including your own barbecue, smoking in the forest or otherwise aiding a fire - be careful, you really are surrounded by dry wood.

Beautiful place surrounded by forests and nature. Cleverly and practically equipped cottage, We spent only one night here. But it was very nice and I highly recommend it.
5.10 - 6.10.2024 Jan říká:
The cottage is equipped with basic things like toilet, matches, etc. which is also great!
12.8 - 14.8.2024 Zuzana říká:
For me total satisfaction, expectations met and everything corresponded to how the cottage is described. Everything clean, tidy. In my opinion ideal for 1-2 people. I went there to really switch off and although the cottage is not completely secluded (there are other cottages hidden around and there is a cottage settlement down the hill), it was quiet. There are really lots of trees and greenery around, and I watched birds and squirrels. At night a herd of roe deer passed very close by (about as close as the fire pit) - perfect. That ties in with maybe a tip for those who are going here with a dog, like me. As written - it's unfenced land in the woods and if your dog has any hunting instincts, it needs to be watched. The patio is also unobstructed, I solved this by putting a deck chair in the entrance and because my dog is a sniffer she didn't venture over it - but I'm sure a handy hunter would have jumped over the railing. So just an echo that it's something to keep an eye on - if I hadn't blocked the way, I'd still have Rosa hunting squirrels :)
Otherwise just great, in the heat (it was over 30C) the fridge was a bit lacking, but you can live with that, plus if you close the shutters during the day you have a wonderful coolness in the cabin. I haven't slept so well and hard in a long time. Mornings with coffee on the terrace - divine. About five minutes down the hill the Berounka - it's not deep, so it's more like a splash, five minutes up the hill there are super meadows again.
Otherwise, I recommend if you walk from the train, go really from the stop that the owner advises. I walked back the other way towards Nizbor and although I'm a skilled hiker I'm also a dick and ignored the dangerous section markings on the map - it's not really just crawling over logs, but there are quite often stupid spots, landslides and it's not ok (I rappelled one section with a leash :D see last two photos)
Definitely definitely recommend the communication with the owner for an asterisk.
5.8 - 9.8.2024 Jiří říká:
A cabin in a little wilderness. Plenty of privacy, no one around. Quiet enough, only sometimes you can hear a train passing by or planes approaching the airport in Prague. After dark, it was also fun to watch the planes and use Flightradar to identify where they were coming from and where they were going. The cell signal is worse locally. A limited water supply and electricity only from the solar array must be reckoned with, but for recharging the cell phone and modest lighting the abundant is sufficient. Otherwise there is everything one needs. Access road a little worse, for trips better to go in the morning and return in the evening. Overall, a very nice stay!
