Grazing with the scent of hops and herbs by the Ohře River #6038

Learn about the real care of the traditional crop "Žatecký poloraný červeňák", which is important for the production of your favourite beverage. Park near a hop farm in a rural part of the hop-growing countryside in Žatecko, which contains the most valuable and fertile hop fields where hops have been grown and bred for centuries.
It is a flat plot with good access for even the largest caravans. Two separate pitches are cut out to maintain the privacy of guests. The fireplace is communal. The site is directly adjacent to the paddock with several sheep, our Swan goose, Bohemian goose and two ducklings. The property is quiet even though there is a cottage settlement "Oharka" in the vicinity where the riverbed of the Ohře River, which is easy and well-maintained access directly from the playground about 200m away.

There are plenty of footpaths and dirt roads in the surroundings, which will take you through the picturesque village of Mradice with a local private chateau. Along the way you will come across hop harvesting buildings, newly renovated farmhouses, the hop farms themselves, as well as historic military bunkers called "Řopíky" , which line the Ohře River. They will also take you to the already mentioned children's playground in the settlement of Oharka and the well-kept banks of the Ohře River. Above the village of Mradice you will climb to the top, which offers a view of the Czech Central Highlands, the Ore Mountains and the valley of the agricultural and hop-growing region of Lounsko/Žatecko.

This area is flat and therefore suitable for beginner cyclists or families with children. There are plenty of cycling trails in the area that will take you to the State Chateau Stekník (4km), which has recently been included in the list of UNESCO protected monuments, to the town of Žatec (12km) with the smallest hop farm in the world, to the Březno open-air museum (7km) to the district town of Louny (12km) and the catchment town of Postoloprty (5km).
