About the Cottage
My husband inherited this cottage, where our extended family has been gathering for over forty years. It’s strategically located halfway between Prague and Brno and meets the 5K criteria that our ancestors once used to choose it: Peace, its own Charm, Swimming, beautiful Scenery, and a nearby Church... Our family of six spends most of our days off here (especially school breaks), often in the company of families we’re friends with. The cottage, nestled beneath an ash tree, offers a great deal of privacy, even though it is located in the very heart of the picturesque village of Zderaz in the Pardubice Region, on the northern edge of the Vysočina region. With its nearly 300-year history, it is a place with its own spirit, charm, and quirks. We’d be happy to share all of this with you. It would help us cover the costs of running the cottage (and future improvements), and you can relax, invite friends over, or work—online or offline—while enjoying the view of the vast forests.

Upon arrival, you’ll sign the guest book and pay a fee of 20 CZK per day in cash, which we’ll remit to the municipality of Zderaz.

If the weather cooperates, you can enjoy skating (at your own risk) on the frozen water surface in front of the Renospond Hotel, only 550 m from the cottage. Children can have fun with bobsleds and sledges on a gentle hill in the local meadow, about 400 m from the cottage. Another good place to slide is the area by the rock dwelling, just 60 m away.

DEAR GUESTS, WELCOME TO OUR COTTAGE!
We wish you a wonderful stay and hope you enjoy the cottage and its surroundings. To ensure everything runs smoothly, please follow a few rules.
RULES AND USEFUL INFORMATION
NON-SMOKING AREA – Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the cottage.
WASTE SORTING –
• Plastic (including Tetra Pak), paper, glass, oil – the recycling bins are next to the COOP store above the cottage.
• Organic waste (except for cooked food scraps) – place in the composter under the walnut tree next to the gate.
• Mixed waste – the trash can is in the garden next to the gate. DISHWASHER – Do not put wooden dishes or sharp knives in it.
PLEASE CLEAN UP BEFORE YOU LEAVE ✨
✅ Take out the trash, clean the kitchen and bathroom.
✅ Empty the dishwasher, washing machine, and refrigerator (unplug the refrigerator) and leave them slightly open.
✅ Vacuum and mop the floors (the vacuum cleaner and mop are located in the storage closet by the dry toilet on the porch).
✅ Before and after using the stove, check the ash tray; if it’s full and cool, please empty it into the compost bin.
If you don’t want to clean up yourself, you can arrange with Mrs. Sysová for a final cleaning for 1,500 CZK.
Turn off the heat and the gas supply to the waffle irons—use the lever under the waffle irons.

The cottage absolutely met our expectations. We did not miss anything, the equipment was above standard. The owner and the lady who handed over the keys were very helpful.
We were satisfied, impeccable agreement on everything. And when you come to the cottage, you heat it up, it's warm.
Very charming place, the cottage is huge. There is everything you need. Even though it was cold outside, the cottage was comfortable.
Thank you to Mrs Syslova and husband for sorting out the broken boiler immediately, within moments we had hot water running and everything was fine.

Beautiful cottage, beautiful and very quiet surroundings. Beautiful nature and hiking trails. Near a great restaurant Polánka. We very much praise the amenities of the cottage, especially the kitchen, where everything was really. We also liked the old crockery which complemented the rustic vibe. The cottage looks very welcoming and family-like. We also enjoyed cooking and baking in the stove.
The only thing that took away from our comfort a little was the cold water in the kitchen combined with the dishwasher not washing perfectly.
As for the cleaning, we understand the concept of "everyone puts their hand to the work", but in the case of strangers visiting, it doesn't quite work that way. The cottage wasn't pronounced dirty on our arrival, but it wasn't tidy either.
