A retro cottage for adventurers and loners, or simply for those who want a real break from today's hectic times.

Have you ever experienced when you had to walk to the cottage, carry everything on your back, melt it in the stove, heat the stew we brought in jars from home on the bomb? To get water for the well, each plate different, because there was always what didn't fit at home. No TV, no fire or cards in the evening, and during the day we would go blueberry picking to make yeast dumplings or a pie to eat after lunch with coffee, prepared in a white porcelain mug with a gold rim.

Or have you never let them cook? Did you not lie on a cloth lounger in the garden, with birds circling overhead and the woods murmuring? Then come and try it out. The cottage is perfect for this kind of unpretentious existence.

On a slope above a freshly cleared forest, in semi-solitude, is a timbered cottage with a barn and a garden, ideal for a break from the vices of today. Furnished modestly so that you have as little incentive to do anything as possible, but inviting you to relax. Nothing important is missing.

The surrounding area is criss-crossed with a network of mountain hiking trails, and it is less than a kilometre to the popular Beskydy-Javornické Ridge Trail, which runs from the Slovak Husárik Hotel above Čadca to the Czech Kohůtka. You can also take a trip to nearby Bytec, Žilina or Rájecké Teplice, or for further hiking to Malá Fatra.

The cottage has two habitable rooms, a kitchen and a bedroom, both with wood-burning stoves. The bedroom can comfortably sleep a family of four. There is also a barn with a utility room and a relaxing summer room with a sitting area. In the lower stone utility room, firewood is stored.

In the garden there is a sitting area with table and benches and a fireplace by it. A smokehouse is also available for use. For water you have to go to the well less than 50m below the cottage. You park your car on the tarmac road also below the cottage and walk up to the cottage with a backpack on your back, it is some 500m (15 minutes) uphill.

Everything you need is available on site, from basic kitchen ingredients, kitchen equipment (induction hob, kettle, crockery, plates, glasses, cutlery....) clean sheets, waste bags, cleaning products, toiletries, to firewood.

The cottage is fine for tourists looking for a place to stay on the way from Kohutka to Husárik, as well as for those who want a relaxing holiday and don't need much.
