The surroundings of Palčovka are ideal for cycling. Directly from the cottage you can go on beautiful trails to Kvačianska and Prosiecka valley, or to Liptovská Mara or on circuits through Zuberec, Oravice and Chočské vrchy.

The trails lead along roads, gravel and forest paths, so they are suitable mainly for mountain bikes, gravel or e-bikes.

Athletes can also train for the famous Oravaman triathlon - its cycling part runs through Huty, Zuberec and Oravice.

On Palčovka it is possible to fish in our small pond. If you are interested in fishing, please let us know in advance so that we can replenish the pond with fish. Recently, some of the fish have been "helped" by the local otter.

We will be happy to prepare the pond for you so that you can enjoy a peaceful fishing right at Palčovka.

Palčovka has a great location for winter sports. There are several ski resorts in the Western Tatras and Orava within a 10-25 minute drive.

The closest are Zuberec - Janovky, Rohace - Spálená, which is one of the largest ski resorts in the area. Other skiing possibilities are in Oravice (about 16 km) or in Vitanova (about 18 km).

In winter you can also enjoy cross-country skiing, winter hiking or bobsledding directly in the vicinity of Palčovka.

In summer, you can take a dip in several natural and thermal swimming pools in the surroundings. Popular is for example Liptovská Mara (about 25 minutes by car), where you can swim, rent a paddleboard or boat.

Very pleasant are also thermal baths in Oravice (about 20 minutes by car), where you can enjoy the warm thermal water with a view of the Western Tatras.

For a quick refreshment you can also use the mountain streams and nature around the Kvačianska and Prosiecka valleys.

Palčovka is also a great place for children. At the cottage there is a small playground and a trampoline where children can play. There are meadows and nature around, where they can run, explore the stream or watch the sheep that graze here from spring to autumn.

In winter, children can enjoy bobsledding and tobogganing right next to the cottage. A trip to the Kvačianska Valley to the historic Oblazy watermills is also a great experience.

Palčovka is located right at the entrance to the Kvačianska valley, which is one of the most beautiful valleys in Liptov. A popular destination is the historic water mills Oblazy, which can be reached by a pleasant walk directly from the cottage.

Another beautiful route is the Prosiecka valley with its waterfalls and rock gorges. More experienced hikers can also go to the Western Tatras - for example to Sivý vrch, Brestová or to the Roháče area.

There are many marked hiking trails with beautiful views of the mountains, meadows and forests.

Na Palčovce se od jara do podzimu pasou ovečky, které jsou součástí místní horské atmosféry. Mají zvonečky, takže je často uslyšíte při procházce kolem chalupy.

V našem rybníku plavou ryby a někdy se tu objeví i místní vydra. V okolních lesích je možné zahlédnout také srnky, zajíce nebo různé druhy ptáků.

Je to místo, kde jste opravdu blízko přírodě a zvířatům, která k horám patří.

At Palčovka you can also enjoy quiet evenings by the fire, roasting marshmallows or sitting on the summer terrace with a coffee or a glass of wine. There is a barbecue, a grill and a fireplace.

Guests often use the common areas at Palčovka, where they can meet other travellers, chat or just sit in peace.

Stargazing is also a great experience - thanks to the location at the end of the village, it is really beautiful dark and quiet at night.
