Thanks to its strategic location at the foot of the eastern Krkonoše Mountains, our resort is the ideal starting point for cyclists of all levels.

Smooth, obstacle-free riding (Road and Trail): The gently rolling foothills here are perfect for brisk rides—even 50-kilometer loops—on smooth surfaces free of tree roots and annoying rocks. Jump right onto Bike Trail No. 4311 from our resort toward Svoboda nad Úpou, or take Trail No. 4299 to Trutnov.

Krkonoše Hikes (MTB and e-bikes): The connection to the main bike trail No. 22 (Krkonoše Diagonal) offers more challenging climbs and unforgettable views, leading you to the Rýchorský Ridge. Start your ascent to Černá hora on Route 4311 to Janské Lázně, from where you can continue along mountain trails or take the cable car.

Adrenaline on the trails: Fans of technical riding will appreciate the proximity of the renowned Trutnov Trails. The well-designed off-road trails at the nearby Čížkovy kameny will satisfy both beginners and experienced bikers.

Downhill Skiing

Mladé Buky Ski Resort (less than 5 minutes by car): A resort with 5 km of slopes, a children’s ski park, and daily night skiing. An ideal choice for families and beginners.

SkiResort ČERNÁ HORA - PEC: The largest ski resort in the Czech Republic (50 km of slopes). Easily accessible by ski bus from neighboring Svoboda nad Úpou.

Cross-Country Skiing

Mladé Buky Loops: Regularly groomed cross-country trails begin just a few hundred meters from the resort.

Ridge Trails: Quick access to the Krkonoše Main Trail via the gondola lift from Janské Lázně to Černá hora.

Other Winter Sports

Sledding: The 3.5 km-long Černá Hora sledding trail with a vertical drop of 560 m (starting from the summit of Černá Hora, accessible by chairlift).

Ski mountaineering: Excellent access to the official KRNAP ski mountaineering routes in Janské Lázně and Pec pod Sněžkou.

Ice Skating: The ice rink in nearby Trutnov (about a 10-minute drive) offers public skating, open daily.

Lesní plovárna Resort: Our own 50-meter natural pool. Guests have direct access to the water from their accommodations, and can relax on comfortable Nardi lounge chairs and at the adjacent bar.

Trutnov Summer Swimming Pool (about a 10-minute drive): A modern outdoor facility with heated water. It features a swimming pool, a large water slide, slides, water spouts, and a heated children’s wading pool.

Aquacentrum Janské Lázně (about a 10-minute drive): A thermal pool fed by local hot springs. Facilities include water screens, massage beds, and both outdoor and indoor hot tubs.

Baldův Svět and the bobsled track (within a 5-minute drive): A large family park located right in the Mladé Buky Ski Resort. It features a water playground, net attractions, trampolines, a 3D maze, and a 1.5-kilometer-long year-round bobsled track.

Krkonoše Tree Top Trail (about 10 minutes by car or ski bus): A wheelchair-accessible scenic trail in Janské Lázně with educational stops. A popular dry slide leads down from the top of the 45-meter-high tower.

Animals and Nature

Muchomůrka Farm Park (about 10 minutes by car): A nature park in Svoboda nad Úpou. Here, children can pet farm animals, ride ponies, or play in a castle made of straw bales and other natural elements.

The Golden Trail: A route that starts right at our resort, absolutely ideal for a relaxing and peaceful walk through nature.

Sklenářovice: Through the quiet valley of the Zlatý Stream to an abandoned village and a historic stone bridge. A beautiful trip without crowds of tourists.

Surrounding Views: Short walks to the historic Way of the Cross, St. Catherine’s Chapel, or around the golf course with views of the mountains and grazing animals.

Rýchorský Primeval Forest: A moderately challenging hike (10–12 km loop) through the unspoiled nature of Rýchory to the Rýchorská bouda mountain hut.

Krkonoše Peaks

Černá hora and the peat bog (10 min by car): Start in Janské Lázně. Ascend on foot or by cable car; at the top, take the popular boardwalk through the peat bog.

Sněžka (20 min by car): Start in Pec pod Sněžkou. You can hike up through the picturesque Obří důl valley or take the cable car.

Treetop Trail (10 min by car): A wheelchair-accessible and educational scenic trail in Janské Lázně, ending with a 45-meter tower.

To Muchomůrka (10 min by car): A playful walk featuring wooden sculptures in Svoboda nad Úpou, leading to a popular farm park with farm animals.

Grund Resort Golf & Ski (do 5 minut autem / 2 km): Luxusní butikové wellness centrum přímo v obci. Nabízí bazén s protiproudem, vířivku, saunu a profesionální masáže. Wellness je přístupné i pro veřejnost (vřele doporučujeme rezervaci předem).

Aquacentrum Janské Lázně (cca 10 minut autem): Vyhlášené rehabilitační a lázeňské centrum. Najdete zde termální bazén napájený léčivými prameny, vodní clony, masážní lůžka, venkovní i vnitřní vířivku a saunový svět.

Krytý bazén Trutnov (cca 10 minut autem): Kromě 25m plaveckého bazénu a relaxační zóny s vířivkami nabízí tento areál také veřejnou saunu s ochlazovacím bazénkem.

Dvůr Králové Safari Park (approx. 30 min by car): A renowned zoo specializing in African animals. It offers unique safari drives right among the freely roaming herds.

Stachelberg Artillery Fortress (15 min by car): An extensive military fortress dating from 1938. It offers a tour of its unique deep underground tunnels and a museum. Right next to the complex stands the Eliška observation tower.

Trutnov City Center (10 min by car): Historic Krakonoš Square with arcades, the city forest park, and the traditional Krakonoš Brewery.
